Accessibility Improvements in Concerto
Over the past quarter, we’ve been working on a dedicated project to enhance the accessibility of Concerto. Our goal is to ensure that as many people as possible can use the platform comfortably and independently.
As part of these improvements, users should now be able to:
- Zoom in up to 200% without text spilling off the screen
- Navigate most of the site using only a keyboard
- Navigate using speech recognition software
- Use a screen reader to access most content (including the latest versions of JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver)
- Adjust colours, contrast levels, and fonts to suit individual needs
To support this work, we've partnered with a specialist accessibility consultancy who have guided us through best practices and provided expert advice. We're pleased to announce that the next release of Concerto represents a significant step forward in making our platform more inclusive for all.
This support portal is running the latest version of Concerto with all the Accessibility modifications in place.
Most of the changes are subtle or hidden from view, becoming apparent primarily when using a screen reader. However, you’ll notice a new Accessibility button in the top-left corner of the page, designed to help keyboard users navigate more easily and switch to an accessible, compliant font.
We will soon be publishing an updated version of our Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), outlining our compliance with the WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards in detail.
